Where they stand
Every candidate in a race was asked the same eight questions and answered in their own words, unedited. Listed alphabetically. An empty square means nothing on record, not a disagreement.

Where you stand
Answer the same eight questions and see where you are close to each candidate. It stays on this device. It compares eight stated positions and nothing else, and it never tells you who to vote for.

What people want to know
Readers can suggest a question. With enough backing it is put to every candidate in the race.
How to vote
- Check you are on the voters' list: call the Town at 705-746-2101 or email electionhelp@parrysound.ca.
- Watch the mail for your Voter Information Letter. It carries the credentials you need; without it you cannot vote.
- Vote online or by phone, any time from … until ….
You can vote if you are a Canadian citizen, at least 18, and you live in, own, or rent property in Parry Sound, or are the spouse of someone who does. One vote each, however many properties you hold. Full rules are on the Town's election page.
What a town council actually decides
Worth knowing before you weigh anyone's promises.
- Council sets the property tax rate and the municipal budget.
- Council runs roads, sidewalks, water and sewer, waste collection, the fire service, parks, the arena and the library.
- Council decides planning and zoning: what can be built where.
- Council does not run the schools (that is the trustees), the hospital, health-care hiring, the OPP's provincial standards, or the highways the province owns. A candidate promising to fix one of those can only lobby for it.
